For clients
What to expect
If you have been referred to us, or you are thinking about it, here is what actually happens. No jargon.

Your first appointment
It is mostly talking. We want to understand what happened, what you can and cannot do at the moment, what hurts, and what you want to get back to. Then we will do some gentle testing so we have a starting point to measure against.
You will not be pushed into anything on day one. Nothing happens that you have not agreed to.
Practical things
- Wear whatever you would normally move around in. Nothing special needed.
- Bring water, and any paperwork you have from your doctor or case manager. If you do not have it, we will chase it.
- Allow around 30 to 45 minutes for most sessions. The first one may run a bit longer.
- You will see the same person every session. Not a different face each time.
What it costs you
In most cases, nothing. If you are on a WorkCover or CTP claim, or you hold a DVA gold or white card, your sessions are funded and you will not be out of pocket. If you are paying privately, we will tell you the cost before you book, not after.
If you are not sure what you are covered for, call and ask. We work it out for a lot of people and it is not a bother.
Where we meet you
We come to you rather than the other way around. That might be a gym near you, your workplace, your home, or one of our venues at Chermside or Fairfield. If getting there is the problem, tell us and we will sort something out.
What if it hurts, or I have a bad week
Tell us. At the time, not afterwards. That is information we need, not a complaint. We would much rather change the plan than have you push through something that is not right.
Recovery is not a straight line. Some weeks you will notice a clear difference and others will feel flat. That is normal and it does not mean it is not working.
Do I need to be fit?
No. That is the whole point. We start where you are, not where a textbook says you should be. Plenty of people who come to us have not exercised in years, or have been told to rest for months. We work with that.
Who we are
We are Accredited Exercise Physiologists. In plain terms, we are university-trained to prescribe exercise as treatment for injury, pain, chronic conditions and mental health. We work alongside your doctor, not instead of them.
Questions before you start?
Call and ask. No obligation, and no sales pitch.
