Veterans and DVA
Exercise physiology for veterans
Gold and white card holders have no limit on exercise physiology sessions. Most veterans we meet do not know that.

What it costs you
Nothing. DVA covers sessions in full. No gap, no invoice, no forms to fill in. You need a referral from your GP and that is the whole administrative burden.
Where it happens
At Planet Fitness Chermside on Brisbane's northside, in a normal gym rather than a clinical setting, and often alongside other veterans. Southside and mobile options are available.
No boot camp and nobody shouting. You work at whatever level you are at that day, and if you have had a bad week the plan changes.
What we work on
Chronic pain, service-related musculoskeletal injury, PTSD, anxiety and depression, sleep, cardiovascular and metabolic health, and staying independent.
How the treatment cycle works
DVA referrals run in cycles. Before yours ends we write to your GP with how you have gone and what we recommend next, so a new referral is in place before sessions run out. You are not caught short.
Common questions
- Do I need a chronic disease management plan?
- No. Unlike Medicare, DVA exercise physiology does not require one and has no annual session cap.
- Is there any cost?
- No. DVA funds the sessions in full for gold and white card holders.
- Do I have to go to a hospital or clinic?
- No. Most veterans train at Planet Fitness Chermside. Home and mobile options are available where needed.

Have a client who needs exercise physiology?
Send the referral, or call and talk it through first. Both work.
